Onyx, a form of marble, is mostly made of calcite and found in caves. Onyx slabs are translucent and can be lit from behind or beneath to showcase their beauty. One slab could contain dozens of different colors, patterns, and veining. A stone of exotic and fragile beauty, wild streaks of color may be found on one area of a slab, but nowhere else, much like a contemporary painting.
